Anthropic and Google have solidified an expanded cloud partnership valued at tens of billions, granting Anthropic access to up to one million custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). The additional computing capacity, slated for 2026, will deliver over a gigawatt of AI power—equivalent to a $50 billion data center build-out. The deal underscores the voracious demand for infrastructure as AI adoption accelerates.

Anthropic’s revenue trajectory justifies the scale-up, with annualized revenue nearing $7 billion and 300,000 business clients. Its Claude Code product alone hit $500 million in sales shortly after launch. While Google has invested $3 billion in Anthropic, Amazon remains its primary cloud partner with $8 billion committed, supplying custom systems for Claude’s operations.

The AI firm’s multicloud architecture leverages Google’s TPUs, Amazon’s Trainium chips, and Nvidia hardware, reflecting the industry’s reliance on heterogeneous compute solutions. This deal signals intensifying competition among tech giants to anchor next-generation AI workloads.
